American Indians Against Abuse, End Domestic Abuse Wisconsin, and Wisconsin Coalition Against Sexual Assault present the annual Northern Training for staff of Wisconsin rural and tribal domestic and sexual abuse programs. Join your fellow rural and tribal advocates for this event!  This year we offer a variety of large group and small group discussions to explore the emerging issues and trends in our northern communities.  Advocates of all experience levels are welcome.

A brief summary of the training program:

WEDNESDAY, JULY 16 - Plenary session presenters from Safe Haven and Oskey-Wapitah will discuss their successful collaboration. Breakout sessions will include topics that intersect with domestic violence and sexual assault such as: human trafficking, traumatic brain injury, and the White Bison Healing Movement in WI, as well as a deeper exploration of collaborative work.

THURSDAY, JULY 17 - Thursday’s plenary session will feature an in-depth look at the Adverse Childhood Experiences Study (ACES).  Breakout topics include local prevention work, and the intersection of domestic violence, sexual assault and substance abuse.   We will also enjoy a performance by Menominee Youth.
