Domestic Violence Program Director

This position has two primary responsibilities: 1) Providing direct services to victims of domestic violence including one-to-one counseling, advocacy and support; 2) Supervising Family Support Center’s Domestic Violence Program which involves supervising two employees and occasionally interns, making presentations about domestic violence to raise community awareness, networking with other agencies, developing and implementing program improvements, developing and implementing outreach strategies, and providing overall direction to the program. While both of these functions are important, the majority of this person’s time will be spent providing direct services to victims. This position is full time with benefits.
Qualifications: Minimum degree required is a bachelor’s in social work, psychology or other human services related field. Other qualifications include: previous work with people in crisis, particularly victims of domestic violence, knowledge of domestic violence issues, supervisory experience, program development experience, strong public speaking and other communication skills, ability to work as part of a team.
