Madison - End Domestic Abuse Wisconsin (End Abuse), formerly known as the Wisconsin Coalition Against Domestic Violence, will be hosting the eighth annual "Together We Can End Domestic Violence" luncheon on October 3rd from 11:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the Monona Terrace in Madison. The luncheon will be a celebration of End Abuse’s 35-year history of advocating for victims of domestic violence in Wisconsin.
Kim Gandy, president of the National Network to End Domestic Violence and renowned leader for women’s rights and equality, will deliver the keynote address. Gandy is expected to discuss the history of the battered women’s movement, to take stock of the progress it has made and to chart future directions for victim advocates.
"The upcoming luncheon will bring together advocates, survivors, business leaders, policymakers, and other community leaders to build continued support for our work,” said Patti Seger, End Domestic Abuse Wisconsin executive director.
Seger continued, “The progress we have made in the space of a generation is remarkable. Although there still is much work to be done, our track record of success gives us a sense of optimism and excitement for the next 35 years. We are grateful for the many supporters and generous donors who sustain this movement and who ultimately save lives.”
